Effective leaders need an action equation to plan out what they need to communicate to their employees (Matha & Boehm, 2008). An action equation incorporates what the leader wants the employees to do, to know, and feel after they receive the communication and take the correct actions based on what they now know and feel (Matha & Boehm, 2008). The leader needs to first determine what they want their employees to do as a result of the communication. What does he want to be the end result of the plan and how he wants them to accomplish the goals.
